Studio 10 Dance offers dance classes for students age 3 years to adult.  Classes include ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, street jazz, as well as specialty classes such as acrobatics, and body shaping.  Local schools can look to Studio 10 Dance for choreography and consulting for cheer, pep and dance drill teams.  Partner stunts, tumbling and pyramid building are just a few of the areas that we specialize in.

Class sizes differ depending on the size of the classroom and age and skill of the students. 

Currently enrolled students have priority registration. Please register early as class sizes are limited.

 

New Students - Information for new students interested in taking classes at Studio 10 Dance.

Fall Classes - The 39 week fall program (technical rehearsals & shows) runs from September through June.

Summer Classes - The summer program runs June through August. Afternoon and evening classes offer students and parents a wide range of dance styles to choose from.   Our summer dance camps keep learning fun while kids spend more time working a variety of styles in the 4 hour daily schedule. The 2 weeks culminates in a production put on by the campers for their family and Friends!  Many students use this to figure their upcoming fall enrollment questions.

Tumbling & Acrobatics
Acrobatic movements are combined with dance steps as students learn the fundamentals of music, physical conditioning, coordination and timing.

Ballet class Ballet (7yrs - adult)
Ballet is considered the foundation of artistic dance.  Its meticulous attention to technical detail makes it invaluable for any focused dancer.  Combining proper alignment and body placement, seamless transitions through standard arm, leg and feet positions and astute sense of timing, it trains dancers to be clean, versatile performers.
Body Shaping (open)
Body Shaping is an exercise class that focuses on strength training/conditioning, breathing, alignment and flexibility. Working with 2-5 pound dumbbells, you will shape and tone muscles. You will learn proper technique to achieve the most efficient and effective workout.
Hip Hop class Hip Hop/Breakdance
(8yrs - adult)

Hip Hop is a blend of today's high energy "street style" movement.  Typically performed to "popular music," this style of dance is very sought after by teens, preteens and the "young at heart."  The style boasts that everyone is capable of taking part and having fun!  Sometimes percussive and other times it incorporates "house or club" dancing, making Hip Hop.
Jazz or Lyrical class Jazz (7yrs* - adult)
Lyrical (11yrs - adult)

Jazz and Lyrical have continued to evolve with various ethnic and cultural influences, since its origin in the late 1950's.  Even though, no one can pinpoint it's beginning, both Broadway and Hollywood made this type of dance big on stage and screen.  Very much like ballet, jazz and lyrical tend to be very technical.  The wider range of musical options lends itself to more interpretation.
* 7 year old students are required to take both ballet and jazz classes.
Jr Combo class Junior Combo (3 - 6 yrs)
Junior Combo classes introduce children ages 3 to 6 to ballet and tap.  The two subjects are taught to keep the student's interest diverse. Diversity gives students a better chance of finding a dance style they can adapt to. The formative years require good structure in classrooms to help parents raise healthy, happy toddlers.
Street Jazz class Street Jazz (7yrs - teen)
Introduces boys & girls to the fundamentals of movement and timing.  By using nontraditional approaches, such as mini-trampoline, basic tumbling & acrobatics, elements of break dancing, hip hop and strength, stretch and conditioning exercises, students develop coordination and rhythm to put together dance sequences.  An excellent "off season" training regimen for athletes.

Tap class

Tap (7yrs - adult)
Rhythm Tap is a smooth, intricate style of tap  which emphasizes the articulation of sounds of the feet.  It moves through the body to create fluid elegance reminiscent of “Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers.”
