About Ahjalia Hall
As the daughter of a dance studio owner, Ahjalia has been in the dance industry for a lifetime and has been teaching, choreographing and working with studio, all-star, high school, college and professional dancers alike for over 20 years. Since earning her degree in Sociology & Education at UCLA she has been a mainstay in the Los Angeles dance scene.
She is an award winning choreographer with both dance studio teams and school dance teams at the elementary, high school and collegiate levels. Ahjalia was a Head Instructor for the United Spirit Association (USA) for 19 years where she was awarded the prestigious Robert Olmstead Award of Excellence for her leadership of both dancers and dance instructors.
She judges regional, national and international dance competitions including dance nationals in USA, Australia, Mexico, Japan, Costa Rica, Columbia and the prestigious ICU World Championships & USASF Dance Worlds at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Ahjalia currently owns Thrive Dance Center, a premier performing arts facility in Southern California where she trains over 500 dancers each year. Some of her dancers have most recently been seen performing in A Chorus Line at the Hollywood Bowl, in the Dorito’s Super Bowl Commercial with Lionel Richie and Chance the Rapper, in Sam Smith’s music video “How Do You Feel”, in Magic Mike The Show in Las Vegas and with Justin Bieber in Los Angeles on the Purpose Tour.
As a choreographer she is known for her powerful, rhythmic and expressive movement and as a Master Teacher she is known for her high energy, high expectations and for building confidence in dancers at every level. Getting dancers to feel connected with the music and to emote as performers is her passion and sharing her joy for dance with dancers of all ages is her life’s work.
