About Gayle Greenbrook

Gayle Greenbrook had a successful career as a child actress and vocalist. She retired at eighteen and went into competitive roller-skating achieving national status. She hung up her skates and went back to her first love…dance, tap in particular. Gayle has been very fortunate in being able to study with such masters as Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Sam Weber, Dianne Walker, Fred Strickler, Eddie Brown and Fayard Nicholas. Gayle has taught all over the Bay Area and started with Studio 10 in 1992, now calling it her home base. She is the founder and artistic director of “Tap Explosion“ the south bay’s only tap dance company. Gayle and “Tap Explosion“ have been successful since 1995. An accomplished singer she also teaches voice lessons out of her home and at Studio 10 Dance.

About Emily Guibert

Emily has over 20 years of dance training, which includes ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, musical theater, and tumbling. She has performed under the direction of Debbie Allen at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, traveled to New York to participate in the Joffrey Ballet School’s Summer Intensive, and went to England to dance in the London New Years’ Parade. She attended California State University, Long Beach on academic and dance scholarships and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.F.A. degree in Dance. Emily is a founding company member of Body Current Dance, a contemporary ballet company lead by Lorin Johnson. Her most current professional work was for Andrew Vaca’s Jazzworks—Long Beach. She was a member of the company for five years and held the position as rehearsal assistant. She has also been featured as a dancer in a music video for The Relay Company and has danced for a music video release party in Hollywood, California with the DJs of LBCK. Now in her 9th year with the United Spirit Association, Emily has been named the 2006 Rookie of the Year, the 2010 Most Valuable Player, and received the 2013 Hardest Working Award. She represented the USA several times in the San Francisco 49ers’ Halftime Show and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York. She serves as a judge and director at regional and national dance competitions, and is a Head Instructor for USA summer dance camps throughout the U.S. Emily offers classes that combine contemporary and traditional techniques. Her classes are age and skill level appropriate, challenging dancers both mentally and physically. While encouraging dancers to explore the organic execution of their own bodies, she also promotes a full commitment to performance and an environment that supports individual improvement. Not only does Emily enjoy watching her students succeed in the classroom, but she is dedicated to teaching them life skills.
